Daily Discourse Overview

 

Power Points designed to promote Mathematical Discourse in the classroom.  The Daily Discourse Guide provides an outline as to how Daily Discourse can look in the classroom with suggested questioning strategies and video examples. 

Standards for Mathematical Practices

 

The Standards for Mathematical Practice describe varieties of expertise that mathematics educators at all levels should seek to develop in their students.

This standards are consistent from all grades K-12.

Strategies for building number sense included in the Kindergarten Counting and Cardinality, K-5

Operations and Algebraic Thinking Progression. Examples and explanation included.

CCSSM Glossary Tables

 

Common Addition & Subtraction and Multiplication & Division tables found on page 88-89 in the CCSSM

Standards informed these tables where the Progression Documents highlighted strategies and unknown locations specific to grade levels.

Coherence Tables

 

Mathematics should not be a list of disconnected, skills because it takes more than one piece to get the whole picture.  Coherence connects the pieces that exist between content and practice, grades and standards. The coherence tables are the flow of how students develop concepts over time.
